“From the beginning, MatchPoint NYC was intended to be more than just a basic health center,” Dmitry Druzhinsky said. “Our approach has been to make it into a community hub, a kind of athletic village where Brooklyn residents can socialize, compete and collaborate.” A sample of the events held at MatchPoint NYC are the 2015 Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournament, featuring politicians from Brooklyn and the Bronx working to benefit public health and youth empowerment; the Say No to Bullying! Fitness Day with international tennis star and Olympic silver medalist, Dinara Safina; and the annual New York Tennis Tournament, held at MatchPoint NYC since 2014.  Top Wall Street bankers such as Jon Bader, Bruce Richards, Rob Pohly, Jeremy Mindich, Dax Vlassis and Bill Ackman attend what New York Tennis Magazine called “one of the top tennis charity events around, and… one of the biggest and most successful events put on by the R Baby Foundation.” The function has raised more than $500,000 in just the two years of hosting at MatchPoint NYC, money that is dedicated to improve infant medical care through a range of hospital programs: telemedicine with pediatric professionals, mobile simulation training program and symposiums.
